HELLO!! Welcome everyone! I figured I make this thread so everyone could check in. Our team consists of:

Well i figured id just tell u all a little bit about myself. I'm 19yr old and from somerset county in Pennsylvania. For those of you who dont know where that is i am located 3 miles from where united flight 93 crashed on sept11. I hunt with a crossbow and i hope none of you take offence to that. Due to some physical handicap it's either i use the xbow or i dont bowhunt. I put in alot of time in the field very seldom missing a day and i scout year round. I'm starting to get a pattern on a few nice bucks so hopefully everything works out. I'm not a trophy hunter i'm a opportunistic hunter. The first buck that gives me a good shot i'm going to try to put in the freezer. Does are in trouble to around me also. A doe means as much to me as any buck.Hunting here is hard so any opportunity you get you dont pass up. I've been bowhunting for 4yr and i havested a 6pt and a doe. I recently just purchased a new xbow which is twice the bow my old one was so im anxious to give it a shot on deer. I'm a very ethical hunter if the shots not what i want i dont take it. No pot shots here. I hunt mostly private property with a little but of public thrown in. I will be missing a week of bowseason this year though but the payoff will make it worthwhile for me. I was chosen through the hunt of a lifetime organization for a elk hunt in utah oct 6-12. I look forward to this fall season together with you guys and hopefully we can take it all. |

Well guys, my name is Jason and I am 23 years old. I live in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, about 45 minute drive east of Pittsburgh. I have been hunting since I was 12 and bow hunting since I was 14 or 15 years old and have shota few deer in my day. I hunt private property that is managed by my best-friend and I and we have some bruisers running around. I am the guy thats either gonna add some nice inches to our score or nothing at all. I am shooting a 2006 BowTech Old Glory and I have got this baby dialed in, the deer are in trouble.
I have my eye on several bruisers, probablly 10 or so P&Y caliber deer on our properties that I know of and will be chasing when season opens on Sept. 30th. Wow...three PA guys on one team...hopefully AR is working...LOL.
Nice to meet everyone so far! Jason...those are some seriously nice bucks.....good luck getting that wide one...he's awesome! Now a little about me: My name is Steven, I'm 17, and I live in Erie County, PA. Thats right up near the lake for those non-PA guys. This will be my 7th year archery hunting. I've taken one buck and one doe with my bow so far. I did have a few chances at some smaller bucks last year, but passed on them for something bigger. Hopefully that something bigger will walk by this year. I don't have any bucks like Jason scouted out...but I do have a few pics of two nice eights....I would take either one of them if given the opportunity. Heck I'm not picky, I'll take any legal buck this year. I shoot a PSE Vengeance NRG Hybrid....its pretty well tuned and ready to rock on the 30th...still a little fine tuning but nothing major. Hey Guys,
Dabow checking in from the great state of Wisconsin. I will be hunting here in my home state on my propery in Buffalo county. I was also lucky enough to draw an Iowa tag this year. I will be heading out there later this week to do some scouting. I am off work for the entire rut and than some. Theres some nice deer in our area but have not gotten much on film yet. Put in three plus acres of food plots a few weeks ago and they are coming up nice. Jason those are some real nilce bucks you have pics of, and that cuddeback takes some beautiful pics. Look forward to sharing stories and racking points. BTW all you young guys are really making me feel old at 51. |

442deer reporting for duty SIR! I am located in central Illinois, and will be hunting private land in Richland county, public land in Douglas county, and public land in Shelby county. I'm a 32 year old water treatment plant operator, and I have been saving most of my vacation days for hunting. I usually hunt with my 'ol pal hazcon7, and we will have the pleasure of video taping my 10 year old boy's first bowhunt this year {if he keeps practicing and keeps his grades up}.
I have killed quite a few deer with a bow, but nothing HUGE yet........ for Illinois deer.;) |

Well I got your PM . I too am from Pa ,meadville. I hunt my own land and just got in from planting a winter plot.At 48 you can all call me pops but with some geratol I will try to pull my own weight. Deer slayer is cool he was on my loosing team last year neither of us helped.I will post soom pics later.

Hi All, just checking in. I think this is my second post under this new screen name. I use to be by23856, but got tired of all the numbers, so I adopted this new screen name that describes my other passion outside of bowhunting- beekeeping. I have five hives and have already made a tidy little profit from honey sales this year.
But you guys are more interested in my bowhunting chances, so I have attached a pic of my two bucks from last year, that I got the same day on November 5th. I live just south of Omaha on an acreage, and shot both of these guys not far from my house. I don't have any trail cams, so I have no pictures of this year's bucks, but this is typical of the older bucks in my area, if I am patient enough to wait for them to come out during the rut. I never saw either of these guys until the day I shot them, despite spending countless hours in my stands through September and October. I'm originally from PA, in Harrisburg and Huntingdon areas, whichare basically inthe South Central parts of state, and I'll be back in Huntingdon County this year for the opening day of rifle season to hunt with my dad and uncle. I am 40 years old, spent four years in the Marine Corps from '84-'88, got out and went to college, graduating from Penn State in '94 with a degree as a Landscape Architecture, moved to Norfolk VA for three years and then my wife got a job with the National Park Service and that brought us out to Omaha, NE. I'm looking forward to a great season and getting to know you guys better. Good Luck and stay safe. Jason, those are some dandy bucks. I never saw bucks that big while I was growing up in PA. O man you guys got stuck with Buck Magnet this year huh?! Yeah we had him last year. Showin us all the pictures on his trail cam of the big bruzers he's covered in. Don't count on him getting close to any of them though folks! You'll be just as disapointed as we were. The pain goes away but the scars stay forever. LOL!

Thats where I got those game camera pics from.....and I know there are bigger ones out there than those.....but me getting a chance with one of them...well...lets not go there.:D |

doesnt anyone have any confidence in us lol.
I was out and did some scouting the past 2 nights. Last night i saw a nice 8pt and a beautiful 7pt that would probably score 120 or so he has a nice crab claw on the end and beautiful curves on the end of his rack. I also saw a few does. Tonight i saw 7 does. I'm starting to get a pattern on the deer i'm gona keep after em hard. I'd like to score early! |

Good point about the name 442deer. We need to come up with something catchy and original. Also we need to decide on a team captain. To kind of get everyone in order here and keep things rolling smoothly. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to be out again tomorrow for some more scouting and im going to build some groundblinds saturday. I'll keep everyone posted on whats going on. God bless.

You guys have WAY too many PA hunters to win. Everyone knows other than those "preserve" deer that buck magnet posts pics of, there are no deer to be had in Pa.;) And certainly no nice bucks;)

Hey Guys,
Just got home from an exhausting week. Spend three days finishing up the tower stand I prefabbed which is sitting over a pond that was a real hot spot last year. Built it for shooting a bow and am quite happy with how it turned out. As I was still finishing it off a big storm blew thru with winds over 60 mph. She stood firm without as much as a shingle being torn off. Than it was off to southwest Iowa. I already had permission to hunt one farm so started off there and ended up getting permission from three of the neighbors farms as well. Than I met another local who is in realestate. He told me hehas several farms he will put me on. I was knocked over by the kindness of the people down there, they told me they want me to have a good experience...........dabow |

Hey guys
Sorry I havn't posted in awhile, I have been pretty dang busy as of late. Today I spent my day checking game cameras and setting up some new stand sites, saw a real nice 8 point while setting up a hang on today. He walked down the trail past me at about 25 yards, now if only he will do that come Oct. ;) On a side note, all the bucks we got on the cameras this past week are starting to loose their velvet. The tips of the hard antler are comming through the velvet, should start seeing them rubbing any day now. Thanks for the votes on Team Capt. We need to get some names going here guys..... Now, Mantis, of course I didn't shoot a big buck last year, it seemed pointless to me as I knew the rest of my team couldn't pull their own weight.... why waist a big score on the rest of you guys haha ![]() Buckeye, ooooooooooo buckeye...... hey fellas. I didnt get out to do any scouting or anything than this weekend. Ended up at the local county fair and playing in a softball game to benefit lou gherigs diease for a member of the local community. I'll be out tomorrow night keeping a eye on things. Hope everyone is doing well.
