Are yuo hitting the "save changes" button at the bottom?
I have tried to load the team logo in my profile but it seems to take forever to load?

If anyone is having trouble you can try doing it this way instead. If you want to of course.

Change the password for you account and set up a temporary one. That way I can do the changes necessary to get the avatar pic to load if you would like to have it on your profile.

After I get done, I will turn your account back over and you can change your password back.

Let me know what you think. Otherwise I might be able to help you out some other way.

Dave

OK, I think I got it
You need to right click on the picture
Use the "save as"
I saved mine as a picture in "my pictures"
Go to your profile
Scroll down the profile picture, click on it
Hit the Browse button
Find the saved picture, double click it
Then after you get the image downloaded message
scroll down to the bottom and hit the "apply" button
I hope this works?

RE: 23- Team Official Thread

Well guys, did some scouting on labor day. Seen some good sign. I was especially surprised to see that the bucks are already rubbing their velvet off. I do believe it is a bit early for western PA, but maybe not. We found one patch of saplings just demolished. The rubs were fresh and still had some hair on the bark. We also kicked up two good bucks still in velvet near one of our old stand locations. The woods are a bit more open this year, but the staggered thickets and good acorn crop should keep them in there. I'm excited!

I still have the honey hole to scout out yet and make sure the deer haven't changed their pattern since last year. My shooting lanes should still be cut, as long as nothing has happened to my favorite tree. I don't want to get too much scent in there, so i'm holding off for a bit.

I'll keep you all updated! Somebody get one on the board early!

hey guys how is everyone doing?? i hope that everyone is having some good scouting.

when does everyones season start? hope we can get an early buck or two on the board that would be nice. my season starts the 16th of september, not far away. i cant wait to get out into the woods!!

i might not get to hunt this year as much as i would like to though. my wife and i are expecting our first child within the next month. we can not wait for the day to finally come. so if i am gone from the boards for awhile that would be the reason why im not here.

Wow Joel
Congrats on your new one on the way bud, hope every thing turns out great for you and the wife. I can't remember back that far ,LOL,mine are both up and gone and married, but do live close to pops.Cherish them when their new borns, they grow up way to fast. I like your enthusiasum about getting that 1st one on the board.;)I tend to take my time and actually pass on the 1st 30 or 40 that walk by my stands.I've been selective in the past 4 years and have let 180's walk.Last year I past on the same buck 2 times that was 180ish and finally after having the wife heckle the crap out of me about putting some meat on the table I finally shot him on my 3rd chance.Little to my amazement I had my 1st buck ever duck my arrow at 12 yards and hit him an inch below the spine. We looked for 2 days and finally lost him in a 100 acre field he choose to walk across on with out any growth on it.No tracks and very little blood trail. This year I'm going to to set my standards a little lower and take the 1st 140ish buck as we are out of meat ,that way I won't get the treatment from the wife :).
Also this year I have 2 new families to feed as my kids have gotten married and have grown acustomed to eating wild meat all their lives. Theydon't hunt either and expect pops to supply them with the goods ,IE wild meat [:@].Good luck on setting up on those rubs Joel, and don't forget that safety belt :(.

Good luck to all you men. Hope your hunts are as rewarding as the anticipation. I love everything about Bow season. MNhunter, good luck with that new born. Just keep in touch with us and let us know what you are up to. Youngfart don't be passing on any 180 class bucks this year. That would be a sweet score to put on the board.I got a 172 last year that put me in second place for the big buck contest. Happy hunting friends.

WOW! I love the logo Bols! Great idea you had!

Hey fellas, those are some very impressive bucks y'all have killed. I really hope we ALL can score.

My trip to the lease this week was very UN-productive. I got nothing accomplished for my hunting areas. I am still disappointed about the whole trip. I ended up spending all my time helping my father-in-law. I know, I know, I can't gripe too much, I DID wreck his truck. However, I did get to check my trailcam which didn't have any pics taken. I was disappointed about that BUT, I had about 5 minutes to walk around the area a bit and I noticed what might be a fresh scrape a few feet off of a trail. I'll be moving my camera to watch this spot. I also noticed some"old" rubs from last year, so I know there have been bucks moving there before. This is that funnel-like area I mentioned before. It slopes on one side down toward the creek, and on the other side of the creek it's basically flat, swampy, and green. I call this area my "Green Stand".

I'll be back up there next weekend, so that's when I'll hang my stands and put on the final touches.

Good luck to all and extra good luck the you fellas that get to start huntin before me!

Well, hopefully some of you early season guys are seeing some nice deer. About 21 more days for me. It's alot cooler already this year than it has been for quite sometime in the past. Looks like we have a new member that likes our Avatar. Boone&Crockett seems to have taken a liken to it. I told Bols it is a bad azzzAvatar and can see why he would want it. RE: 23- Team Official Thread

went out and put up a couple of different stands today. i put both of them up on the same ground that i have hunted on for the last ten years, but one that i put up is in a spot that i have never hunted before. it is up on a ridge and has a couple of nice trails by it. one of the trails runs the ridge and the other one crosses over the ridge. the only thing that sucks is that i dont have a whole lot of shots because it is so thick in that area.

SATURDAY IS THE BIG DAY!!!

youngfart 09-10-2006 07:12 PM

RE: 23- Team Official Thread

Joel
I know this my sound stupid but your spot on the ridge sounds like a killer come rut time. For that matterif there well used trails it could be just a honey hole. I have such a spot that I know I can sit and sure enough a buck will use it.
Bucks during the rut will use the ridge to their advantage ,IE rising air currants and also for visual .They can smell a doe in heat from being up higher and also can make eye contact by being up higher.
The thing about few shooting lanes canalso work in your favor as the less a deer can see you the better your chances of not getting seen while you make your draw.
The thing that itrigues me most about the location is the trail up and over the top of the ridge,is the trail below the ridge on a west facing? If so then this could be an entry to a bedding area for a buck, specially whenyou say it's so over grown.
Wait for the right wind and sneak in their during an evening hunt and check it out.Take care and God Bless.
PS letme know when you've sat in this stand and made up your opinion on it. Sounds sweet to me.
Rocky:eek:

"The thing that itrigues me most about the location is the trail up and over the top of the ridge,is the trail below the ridge on a west facing? If so then this could be an entry to a bedding area for a buck, specially whenyou say it's so over grown.

"
Also youngfart, just wondering why it would matter what direction the "ridge with the trail below" is facing? I'm still learning, so I'm not questioning in doubt, I'm questioning to learn why. The spot I was talkin about is also in a very similar situation.

mnhuntr_82 09-10-2006 07:48 PM

RE: 23- Team Official Thread

hey rocky. the trail comes up one side of the ridge and then runs the ridge for a bit and then trails off the side of it. it should be a pretty interesting spot, cant wait to sit there. i will probably wait to sit there until the rut or atleast not for awhile anyway. the only other thing is that the trail that runs the ridge leads to an alfalfa field which is about a quarter mile away. that is kind of the reason why i would like to sit there right away.

it is raining here now, which is good to get rid of the scent that was there.

youngfart 09-10-2006 08:17 PM

RE: 23- Team Official Thread

Wade
If the ridge is a west facing hillside ,it would mean it's the side facing the sun and that would be better for bedding as it is facing the sun, then for the trail leading up and over the ridge would be an escape route or a route to feeding groundsand also the sun would not be in their eyes as their walking up the hillside. Hope this helps you Wade . Good luck figuring your site out .Leave the father -in-law behind next time while scouting[:@]. J/k

Ok guys I Don`t have much time to typeBUT IDREW BLOOD OPENING DAY ona good size doe saturday morning 7.19am freezer meat;)MY SEASON HAS STARTED!Ihad not been on the stand no more than 10min when I heard something moving around in the leaves? I couldn`t hardly see in the woods it was still kinda dark, When I seen her she was already 15 yrds from my stand how she got that close without me seeing her, bets me?
She new there was something not right.
As she turned to walk away I reached for my bow and as turned to the left she walked behind a good size oak tree All in one motion I stood and drew.
I made a soft noise to stop her from walking.
When she stopped I settled my pin just behind her left shoulder and let it fly.
She only ran about 15-20yrds and pilled up.
Was it hot? Not to bad first thing but after about 10am o-yes:D
I always take a doe or two before The bucks really start moving good
With any luck come oct-nov I`ll tag a buck but you never know it might come sooner;)
Good luckTeam-23..rta47..terry

RE: 23- Team Official Thread

Good deal there RTA!!

Congrats. Way to give her the shaft.

I like your idea of donating a doe or two there youngfart.

I am thinking about doing the same. Hopefully I can take a few does this season, keep one for myself and the rest will be donated.

I like it because I am helping out needy families and working on keeping my buck to doe ratio in check.

My dad doesn't always agree with me about taking out more does than bucks in a given year but I really feel you are doing yourself a favor by taking outa few does each year.

I luckily got a good size freezer this year from my wife's grandmother. It is sitting in the garage and will be full of deer meat this winter hopefully.

Anyways, hope things are going well for the rest of the team.

Can't wait to hear more stories come in as success breeds success!!
