Back in the saddle. Went out Weds night anddouble-lunged a nice doe (12 yd shot)on a friend's farm,I watched her keel over <50 yds away. I switched to slick trick broadheads this year from thunderheads (125's), and I have to say they do an impressive job.

Congrats on the doe, meat in the freezer sure takes the edge off
.
Glad to hear the ST's are working for ya!
I drew back on one doe last week, but she walked away tail towards me until out of sight. Oh well, there will be others.
Congrats again! 12 yards hot, makes for a no mistakes draw!

-Good going Dave.Ditto on the hole those Slick Trick broadhead's make - sweet.
- I had a nice looking buckfreshen ascrape in front of my camera last night. The does are in smaller pods now, and the traffic report roadkills are increasing.Great time to be out in the woodsall day if you can swing it...

Put in some 5 and 6 hour days the past week -had a few does spook on my decoy and had seen just a few raghorns. Tonight, only had 1 1/2 hours to hunt, so no decoy. But as soon as I settled into the tree stand over a back woods clover patch (1st timeits been hunted thisyear)a narrow, tall-racked 9-ptr camethrough (~100+ p&y) and presentedbroadside only 15 yds away. I gave him a pass, he needs another year and I hope he gets it... One hour later, I had a doe pass by holding her tail off at an angle.Just5 min later, a 6-ptr came by tracking her exact path, grunting every other step. I was hoping one of the big 'uns was following, but nada. At dusk, I heard what sounded like a chase in the deeper woods. Time to get out in the woods guys...do not ignore the noon hour.
