Whatsup guys,
We're on the homestretch here in PA - the last month before season kicks off. Things should start moving along quickly, since college football season starts this weekend and the Steelers start the following week.
I freed up some time this week to do some scouting in the afternoons and spotlighting at night, but it looks like Hurricane Katrina is throwing the monkeywrench into that operation, even all the way up here in the 'Burgh.
Hoosier - glad to see you got the bow straightened out - it's unsettling to have problems this late in the game.
I'm kinda excited about one of my newer developments - I ran a little spring gobbler guiding operation in the spring, and one of my clients may be coming back this fall to do some bowhunting with me(no charge this time). I figured since he already reserved me for this spring turkey season again, he might as well buy his NR license now and come out for a little bow hunting. He actually booked me through this site. I've met a lot of decent people on here, and this team effort should be much the same.
Anyway - it's 5:00, time to roll.

My contribution today was learning that I can still wake up at 3AM, take a shower, hope in a car and drive 4.5 hours, look at a a farm for 3 hours (While sitting in a car) and than drive back home in another 4.5 hours without once falling asleep... Heck, at least I got some very basic scouting done down there (Wasn't to hard when the deer were out in the open to see what was around. I didn't get a good luck but I saw what appeared to be a pretty nice buck slip out of the corn while we went around a corner.. If I had been driving I would have stopped to get a better look..) In the meantime, I know I can wake up at 2 hours before dawn in order to get on a stand without suffering any adverse affects... That being said, I need to sleep for a week and if my wife makes me get in a car tomorrow[>:]
Should someone send a pm to Shoulder shot inviting him to sign in or do we wait? New to this whole thing and don't know how alternates were handled last time.

Looks good Rybo - but where's the bunny?? LOL J/K.
I'm havin' a slow day at work today too - I'd spend a few minutes trying to orchestrate a fantasy football trade, but I'm pretty happy with my team. I guess I should get some of these files cleared off my desk . . . not so fun.
I'd rather be hunting.

We could also always ask that Uphunter25 if he can make something up if we are all truely computer semiliterate... If most everyone else is happy with whatever banner is made than that is fine with me... I'm usually not very difficult..

Howdy guys,
Short on time here, I just got back in the classroom today. Anyway, yesterdays hunt went pretty slow we had a big wind storm hit and the critters didnt hardly move in the evening. I did have a doe and fawn directly under me for about 4 minutes. Iheard one bugle out of a bull elk, more of a short chuckle. and had 15 turkeys come by my stand.....Ihad1 4x4 buck, 120 class at about 50 yards, I enjoyed watching him. he's a 2.5 year old.
Rybo...lets go with that logo! thats great and I agree..with your quote on there..I give my vote..
Well I am looking at my weather forcast and it looks like this evening is going to be much calmer. I may sit in my ground blind tonight and give that other stand one more day. Anways, I hope everyone is doing well. I tried my Xscent clothing out last night and its really comfortable. The doe and fawn that came in to my stand sniffed around and acted abit like something was around, so I hit her with a soft social grunt and she settled right down and went on out and fed in front of me. Boy did she ever give me a perfect 6 yard broadside shot...oh I almost forgot I had a coyote come by my stand too.. just before she showed up. She could have beenpicking up onhim because she kept looking in the direction he had traveled by.
Talk to you all later guys!

Oh to be hunting season.... Good luck Troy.
Rybo and I will be sitting on our thumbs for the next month. Then, we'll get two weeks of hunting (no sundays). So for normal people who work M-F, that translates into 2 days (Saturday and Saturday). At that point, the woods will be bombarded by small gamers and muzzle loaders.
After the muzzle-loader doe season has ended and the squirrel hunting has died down, just as the rut is peaking, our bow season ends. It's nice, b/c we can warm our thumbs up again for a full weekwhile wefatten up onturkey and stuffingbefore the D-Day invasion that is the rifle opener.
I think I'm gonna goout and shootsome groundhogsnext weekend - do we get points for groundhogs??
Is IL Rancher one of our official team-mates yet? If so, what can we do to initiate him? This isn't some fly-by-nightsportsman's clubhere, this is a league of extraordinary individuals, some of the greatest minds in the hunting community. As such, I vote that we haze him.
I propose that he orders hot ******s for all existing XX teammates. Then, he can shower us with gifts of cash, tools, sporting goods, and liquor. After that, I would suppose that we'll let him become a charter member of this elite organization.
