Sorry guys no luck with the video, once I transfer from mini-DV to the computer it looks so grainy you can't see anything but a big blur. I'm going back one more morning for more video and to narrow down where I want to place my stands.

It doesn't NEED to be crystal clear to see that's a bruiser hammer. Best of luck to you this year taking him down. If that's on public land it's even a bigger accomplishment because of the situation. Can leave tree stands up in your public lands? Here in WI, we're not allowed to leave them up, and we have to use strap on steps intead of screw in ones because they consider the screw-in ones to be damaging. I've even been hearing that they get a little touchy about the marks a climber puts on the trees. SHEESH!

I can use a stand but it has to be taken down when I leave. I've got a lone wolf that I'm going to use it seems to do less damage, plus I've got about a 2 1/2mile bike ride back to this locationso I have to go as light as possible.

The video is clear enough to show he's a HAWG! Good luck "ventilating" him.

My Pa spot has a pretty good buck (8 points and around 138-140" at the end of last year) and I'll hunt there early and would shoot him in a heartbeat given the chance but he'd be one I'd pass on our Illinois lease ( I go there for two weeks Nov 5) No doubt I'll shoot him if he presents a chance but it'll be mixed emotions if I already shot my wad before my Illinois hunt.

You know, mixed emotions, the kind you get watching your new pickup go over a cliff....... with your mother in law in it

My season opens this saturday in GA it is my first time hunting with a bow. At my high school we have to do a senior project and spend 100 hours doing it and 25 of those hours with a mentor. I have always wanted to shoot a bow so i chose archery> i have loved it so far and hope to arrow a doe saturday morning although a buck would be great.
