Slow start is right but the hunting is really just getting started. I've been busy with biz but hope to get out shortly. Already my friends have dropped some big 8 pointers. One of my friends had real nice one underneath him today but passed on him. He said he was saving it for me. This is already shapping up better then last year. It was later in the season when we started to see real nice deer.
Good luck, it's time to get serious.

Should be a good weekend. In my opinion and in my area, this weekend is the best weekend to be hunting all season - I'll be out there as much as possible on Saturday. Not sure about Sunday as it's supposed to rain all day starting Sat night. [:@]

Well fellas, I got us on the board. Bigger than last year's deer, but no big
deer. I decided to take him this morning based on fear of not having much time
in the woods coming up as I will be traveling for business the rest of November
and most of December. It's tough to count on a monster buck or any buck for that
matter in late December. So, check out the score board, not big, but we're in.
The hunt itself was really sweet. A typical 40 degree November MI day in the
hardwoods. At 8:45 here comes a deer. At the time I had just dropped my call,
which landed on a branch at the base of my stand. I was bending over to pick it
up when I heard him walking in. I'm thinking I'm busted for sure. I managed to
get my call put away just in time to get my bow in position. As he milled around
in range quartering away in a shooting lane, I sunk an arrow through both lungs
and split open the top of the heart. He went 50 yards and piled up. Nothing
better than seeing you deer drop and die in site. Oh yeah, one more thing better
than that I suppose - he oddly ran toward the truck.
He was hanging
in my garage by 9:30.

Alright Badbob. I went out this morning and had to put chains on due to the ice. Got to my stand and wiped or tried to wipe off the frozen snow and ice and Saw 3 does from the stand and a nice one that I kicked up in going back to the truck. After I left there I chequed out this meadow and encounter a herd of mulies with a small 3 pointer in the group. As I slipped on out I saw a nice bull moose. This evening I went to a ranchers property and hunted elk, but I was like a day behind them. The signs are real good and I'm seeing an increase of activity. Its starting to get very good as the rut is coming in and this is what I'll be doing for the next 2 weeks.
Congradulations.

Way to go Badshotbob. Fellas, I had a 140 class 12 pointer coming in behind me Saturday morning. He was working his rubline and staying in the thickest cover in the woods presenting no shot opportunity, moving slow and looking for does. But instead of following the trail 15 yards to the left of me, he veers off north out of range continuing to stay in the thickest cover. My heart sank to say the least as what looked to be a sure thing suddenly turned into a somber mood turning experience. I am sure he will be back, but hopefully he appears again before the upcoming firearm season.

Way to go bob! You were right this weekend was very good? I ALSO SCORED! ON A NICE 8PT. I had 4 bucks chassing 3 doe`s sunday morning at around 8:00amI picked the best one I could get a shot at and put the smack down on-em I watched my buck fall within sight
Then right after that I had 2 smaller bucks chase a doe across a field to my right.
I was pumped about 30min later I had a lonely doe come walking by. I no I should not have but I did
I took her two! my forth doe for the season and my first buck. I will have him scored in a couple of days And some pics will soon be coming. He`s not a moster but heis a little better than last yrsbuck but not by much. way to go team!rta47
