Default RE: New deer slug for 2007!!!!

Uncle Matt, you can't tell people how to spend their money! As you probably know, different ammo flies differently out each gun! If your successful with the cheap stuff, you would be silly to change. But I am always trying to improve my accuracy when shooting slugs..... I currently shoot an H&R Ultra Slugster which shoots Rem. Ultra-Core lokts great, by great I mean consistently hit a 3" orangesticker at 125 yards and a 1 1/2" high above the black diamond inside the 3" orange at 50 yards, with bullet holes 3 of 5 touching. If I didn't experiment, I would have never found this ammo. My buddy's H&R prefers Win. Partition Golds.

By experimenting I try to take my equipment out of the equation when I'm in the field hunting. If I should miss for any reason, I want to know it is error on my part, not the ammo I am shooting. With my gun, I only have 1 shot, and I have to make it count........ The reason I am looking foward to this new ammo, is that I'm a huge fan of Barnes Bullets! I have done extensive testing with a whole gammet of bullets with my muzzleloader and have found that Barnes Bullets as a whole are probably the most impressive! That's not to say that they will impress me with my slug gun, but I am willing to find out. I'm not a person who has money to burn, but when I hunt, I want the best!!!!!!!!

P.S. I would like to see a smooth bore, fully rifled slug shoot a 3" group at 125 yards... I have 1 that shoots phenominally up to 70 and some where after that it takes a tummble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'm certain at 50 yards it would have to be 8" high at the bare minimum.
