it takes a hell of a lot more practice and skill and strong arms and good sense of feel and distance etc..to kill a buck with compound than a crossbow..
And it takes probably ten times more of these things to become proficient with traditional equipment. By your reasoning, if the difference between a compound and crossbow (debatable) should keep the crossbow out, then common sense screams you would support the moving of the compound out of bow season as well.
