I have taken several elk with a 50 Cal. I also have a 54 Cal. which is my choice. It might not mean much but the 54 appears to be a bit better for my money. If you haven't bought one yet I would recommend the 54. I have shot bulls out to 125 yards with both. Both have also worked great on deer.
