I have used Gold Tips as well (very dull finish on the arrow), my brother also shot Gold Tips for the last 2 years..........no noise problems whatsoever. My brother killed 4 deer in the last 2 years with his Gold Tips (I hunt with different arrows) and WB and they never heard a thing..........I have also personally butchered about 20 deer in the last few years that the WB was quiet enough to kill. I have at least 5 other guys that come shoot in my yard from time to time every year that have WB's and all kinds of different arrows. None of their bows are too loud to hunt with and they all kill deer year in and year out. The only guy in our group with a loud setup is my buddy who insists on using a crappy old Bodoodle that sounds like nails on a chalkboard.
