ijimmy, I've personally put alot more than 8 twists in strings in order to get the draw length correct on different bows without having any problems. You can also take some twists out of the cables equally to shorten the draw.

I have a Darton AS400 with the #3 modules and I had to twist my string to get the draw down to 28''. With no 1/2'' modules they have to expect us to use the string to get to the 1/2'' draw lengths.

As far as the performance of my AS400, its great. I didn't think I would ever find a bow that shot as good as my old Darton Rampage with equal or better speed, but this new one is proving me wrong. And that was with no stabilizer on the 400. I've recently purchased an S-coil for it which doesn't add much weight and keeps the bow from looking naked.
