IMO that is not how you compare calibers. It is however how you compare cartridges.

You have calibers listed not cartridges. The .284( caliber) is ballistically better than the .308 (caliber). Feel free to look it up yourself.
The 7mag cartridge (.284 caliber) is faster and flatter than the 7mm-08 cartridge (.284 caliber).

Your the one that started this thread, not me. Your the one comparing not me. If you only shoot 200 yds then whats the point of comparing. All the calibers listed will kill a deer deader than dead at that distance so whats the point. I just dont agree with your reasoning, You state calibers. The .277 could be the win or the wsm, you have them to generalized to make those statements, the .308 could be a .300 mag. We dont know by your first post.
To many holes in your theory.
Know what I mean ? Your theory on recoil for the .308, is that the 30-06 or the .300 mag ? Or straight .308 win ?
