The only critter I have ever seen half on/off was a big old bull moose. I was pre-scouting for elk archery season, and ran into him in a swampy/wallowy spot. I have found stripped velvet that was wet and bloody on one other occasion (same area, different year). This is also a rare occurence. I think most stripped velvet dries out quickly andis devoured by scavengers soon after it is rubbed off.
