Laying in bed last night going over my deer fantasies i started thinkin ahead to my opening day this august when many of the bucks are still in velvet and others are not.I suddenly realized that i have never seen a buck in the midst of shedding velvet. Any time i see them they either are full velvet or all shined up. I am hunting everyday at this time usually for elk but see a pile of bucks so i am out there in position to see it but yet never have. I was just wondering how many of you guys have seen the half on half off kinda thing? Oh and i posted this here because i felt mainly bowhunters are in the woods at the time the velvet comes off.
