You don't need to have a camo gun, although if your gun has any shinny spots then I would put some camo tape on those spots.
Chokes differ for each gun, they kinda each have their own personality and react to each choke differently. I have a Stardot choke in my 1300 and it done wonders for it, even over some of the more expensive chokes.
Try to get them to within 35 yards if at all possible, but once you find a choke that works well for your gun, test it out to 40-45 and see for yourself if you would want to shoot that far.
