The area he is talking about is a MAJOR winterring area,, I believe they estimate about 50,000 winter within about a 10 mile radius. There is so many,, the local town hires a guy just too chase them out of town at night when they come in too roost.
Owl decoys work really good for crows,, they are a natural enemy and fight like crazy. If a crow sees one, it will harass it and call for more crows too join in the fight.
The guys I know that hunt them,, have best luck the last 2 hours before dark, they set theyre decoys, turn on an e-caller and they can get them too come in even when they are banging away,, I think theyre record is just over 200 in a couple hours right before dark.
