Default RE: Starting Taxidermy

There is definitly a lot to learn.........but everyone has to start somewhere.

I started out by buying a few videos so I could see what was actually involved in putting a mount together. I then bought a few basic supplies and gave it a go.

There was a lot of trial and error but I eventually got the hang of it. Once I felt confortable with what I was doing.......I took a class to get some good hand's on training. The week long class cost about $2500 but it was worth every penny.

In 4 years time.......I've gone from beginner to having a very successful part-time taxidermy business with many return customers.....doing 60+ mounts per year.

Get yourself a few how-to videos to see what is involved.

Good luck....and feel free to PM me any time you have a questions
