Default RE: Choosing a bow

I agree with getting a used bow. I just got my first, a Darton, from e-bay. It cost $75. I am having a ton of fun learning how to shoot it but I can see that it will lead to at least one more bow. This bow won't win any beauty contests but it is functional. I will hunt with it as soon as I can shoot well enough to do so. I'm glad that I won't have to wait for next deer season. I can hunt hogs year round.
BTW, another benefit to buying used is having more money to spend on arrows. It may take trying a few different shafts to find the right spine for your bow. That has been my experience.
