Default RE: Bullet Placement

Adjacent to our hunting lease is a large WMA.Every year I like to make my rounds after season to see what maham has occured.
I have seen many - many deer that went off and died after being shot by Daniel Boone types.A few were obviously Jaw Shot that obvioulsy did not drop dead.

2 years ago one of the hunters on our farm shot a deer with a 50 cal smoke pole.4 of us looked for 2 hours that night and the following day - no deer,no blood,or hair!

Long Story Short;
About 5 days later I shot the deer/Doe.I won't go into detail on what I saw,heard or the condition of this deers organs after 5-6 days.
If you've ever seen a Jaw Shot deer on the hoof a few days after the wound you would never think about attempting such a shot.

When you speak of shot placement and the humane/meat excuse all in one breathe it just don't wash with me.

I can see a good Neck Shot on occasion - But - Head Shots.

I think the military might have room for a few good men that get into Head Shots - Snipers in IRAQ Over there you can be all you can be with the Head Shot thing.
