RE: THIS SET-UP CAN'T HUNT
I think what you are asking is: Should he have the same out look as mine? Answer, No. There are reasons that people have different types of set ups other then there hunting ones. He might not be a hunter. He might be a target archer first and also hunt 2nd. Or he might just be very competitive and is looking to try to get the most points he can, because this is not practice for hunting season but a serious game. Some people shoot low Lbs bows in leagues like that because its less wear and tare on there body. I could go on for hours with what ifs. I think you get the point.
“Tha't THE point ,isn't it??? Practice, form, concentration.” So the point is that he is doing something that he likes and he’s not harming or offending you. And yes,he is getting practice, form, concentration. Just not with a hunting bow. This statement is like when traditional guys say that you are not hunting right or fair because you use a compound bow. Sounds stupid!
And yes 585 is better than 574. That’s basic math. Now if you mean ifyou had a set up like that would I beat him? It sounds like you would have a chance. But you have to remember It’s the man that makes the bow and not the bow that makes the man.
So my opinion is: That you should not worry about the other guys. If your there only for practice, form and concentration you should not be concerned with scores. The only thing you should try to beat then is your own personal best. But if the score is some thing that bothers you might just be a paper hunter too. Then change your set up and beat the other guys. It's OK.You might justhave fun.
