The times we hunted geese out of a field with water we loaded a jon-boat with decoys, and pulled it as we walked to where we wanted to hunt. An empty jon-boat doesn't weigh much at all. Put on your waders or hip boots and when you get to where you want to go, place your decoys and hop in the boat. When your weight is in the boat it should touch bottem. If not bring two small anchors just in case. Then put a cover netting over the boat and bring in the geese. The jon-boat should pull out there even if there's only half a foot of water.
