i asked the same question a few months back. One respose and something that worked great was... errr... Take the brass outside, place it on a piece of card board and..... And whip it out and pee on it and let it sit for a couple days and then add another coat or 2. The guy said it worked great but im not sick enough to do that so i just polish mine
