I've got a Staghorn Mag, I shoot 100 grains of Trip 7 and a 295 grain hollow point, I made a 5/8" 3 shot group at 100 yards, taken 11 deer in 4 years with it. While its not the top of the line it works. i got my son a .45 cal Eclipse Mag CVA for 69 dollars at Gander Mountain this summer, slapped a Simmons 3x9x40 scope I got from CDNN investments for 28 bucks and it shoots good. Its not no 200 yard gun, but my son doesnt shoot that far, nor would I let him yet.
Yes, I've heard they shoot great.I just got an Apex which so far has really impressed me with itsprecision. I encouraged my brothers to buy the Buckhorn or Elkhorn before someone snatched them up. Would have made great rifles for each of them and certainly wouldn't have broke the bank. They like to shoot my rifles but I guess not enough to buy their own rifles, powder, and bullets
