the way I look at it is when the moon is full the deer can see a bit better for predators and will move more during the night. When the moon is new or whatever it is a bit darker and they will still move but I don't think near as much and you have a better chance of seeing them during the morning hours. Just what I think, I tend to see more deer out in the fields at night when there is a full moon then when there is a new or quarters.
