RE: Celbrating after the shot......
Each situation is different for me. This year for whatever reason, I had doe, buck, yearling, etc. fever and could hardly contain myself when I saw a deer. My preparation this year was a lot more in depth from practice to new equipment and my anxiety was at an all time high. For whatever unknown reason. I only shot a doe this year. I was hunting a big boy in northern MO that I could never get inside of 60 yards to get a good shot on. I had plenty of opportunities on smaller bucks but I didn't want to settle.
Last year, I shot 3 deer(s). J/K I know deer is plural. I shot a button buck which I thought was a doe at 46 yards. I normally wouldn't take that shot even though I practice at that range but hewas hanging outnear a creek bottom for about 40 minutes. I had time to settle my nerves while watching him and they were low untilI put the 'Smack" down on him and dropped him in his tracks. He was actually my 3rd deer in 5 days. I was like a little kid hooting and hollering. Good thing I was wearing a safety vest!
I think each situation is differentdepending on the situation which led up to the shot. I don't thinkthere is any disrespect to the animal when there is a celebration. Heck, I get so excited when I see my hunting buddies back at camp and there share their play by play of the harvest.
