With my Triple Se7en powder, I keep the lid on the pound container when not in use, never take it outside into any kind of humidity for any length of time, and I have yet to need them gel packs in the powder. Some of the powder brands actually comes with them. I do not see where they would do any harm in the powder mind you. So if you got them, use them.
