RE: my muzzy let me down
No head is indestructable...none! Any broadhead can bend, break blades, and not perform as it should under unusual conditions. Hitting a shoulder blade is an unusual condition because that is not where the shot was intended. Hitting a shoulder blade happens because we are not perfect. I am not blaming anyone, it just can happen.
Hitting a shoulder blade dead on is almost as bad as hitting a rock. I have yet to see anyone locally shoot any broadhead through the shoulder blade of a large whitetail deer. I have seen them lodged, but not shot through a shoulder blade on a direct hit. We have some big deer in Illinois, a shoulder blade on a big buck is like hitting stone. No Muzzy failures yet for me, too much success with it. Now a failure because of a bad hit is not any broadhead's fault.
