My son said, "I have a job in Alaska and I don't have that money to spare." So he had to drive clear back to Montana, he was not happy...
So, I guess its up to the particular agent. Seems like this one wanted a little bribe to let my son through.

Either you are lying, or your son lied too you! Ive heard this scenario many times and everyone says customs agent wanted a bribe... Its a processing fee!
