i use salt or borax as well. then i cut the plastic hull off the shell i shot it with and hot glue the beard into the brass. i drill a hole through the primer and put an eyelet in it and lace it on leather with the spurs on each side
dito! only thing i do differently is i take a nail and pop the primer out completely rather than drill a hole in it. finished products on jake compared to gobbler....
