Don't under estimate an open sight shooter in the hands of someone who can use one. In one of my arsenals I have a 870 Remington with a 26" smooth bore barrel in which I use th Williams peep sight, this is absolutely deadly at 100 yrds as most of my shots are sometimes no further than this, as I usually hunt the thickets in search of Mr. Big. You have to keep in mind that since you are throwing such a large piece of lead out there, its a little more forgiveing, but you gotta practice and know your weapon and then match it to the game.
