There's an easier way to get a clean beard. Just pull it out of the bird. It pops out just like any other feather, clean as a whistle. Nothing to salt, no extra flesh, just a clean end.
Thats the way I do it also. Not one speck of meat on it. A lot of guys are afraid they will mess it up but dont worry. Just give it a good hard, fast yank and your done.
