Since we are talking about barrels and i'm as much as a novice as bamahunter i've got some qustions for you guys if you don't mind. I've narrowed down my Deer Gun to an 870 from the lovely advice of others on here. MY question is in the Remington Catalog i got it has all of the different types of barrels. I want to hunt deer as well as small game such as squirrels and rabbits and then duck. Would i be better getting the 3" smooth bore slug barrel to use different types of shells for different game or get the regular barrel for duck and small game and getting the rifled cantilever for deer ? I'm a novice of the novices
P.S. I live in ohio so i can't use a rifle for hunting deer.
