Borax works great.RR makes a good suggestion here in using hot glue or wax.Not only does this help in keeping the beard together over the years but more impotantly helps in keeping mites and weevils from eating your beard which will cause your trophy to fall apart.Pesky little critters,theyll make a meal of your tailfan too!!
