I have had absolutely no problems with feathers through my WB. I found that over time my vanes were becoming warped going through the WB. If the feathers give me any problems I'll next try Blasers.
The Bitsenberger is a great fletcher. There are plenty of posts regarding fletching techniques. Most of your consideration needs to be in making sure the shaft is clean and what type of glue to use.
