7600 Range Rpt - I got a shooter!!!

Today I made it to the range for the first time with my new Rem 7600 7mm-08. Boy, you guys were sure right about the trigger!! Pull weight is a little over 7Lbs, and it's definitely got some creep, but it breaks real clean. I've definitely got to get a trigger job done on it. The trigger took some getting used to with groups starting out at about 1 1/2" at 100 Yds, but the more I shot it the better the groups got. By the end of the range session I was averaging about MOA with a few great groups toward the end.

Here is some pics of some of the latter groups I got. These were shot with Hornady 154Grn RN on top of H414. It's a load that shot well in my Rem 700 Mtn LSS so I thought I'd give it a go in the 7600. The dark lines are 1/2" and the lighter ones are 1/4"

I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am that this gun turned out to be a shooter. I heard all kinds of claims about the 7600's accuracy or lack thereof...everything from a 2+" to sub MOA. After todays range session, I have no doubt that with a good trigger job and some load development this rifle will be a consistent sub MOA performer!
I gota tell ya....I'm definitely a happy camper!!! :grin: :grin:
