I never thought touse JB Weld for the recess. Makes sense, but I wouldn't want it in my rifle. One day it's gonna give and end up in the chamber, probably while trying to chamber a round. OUCH! Imagine the gouge in the chamber after that.

I've only done one Sako extractor that didn't accompany opening up the bolt face. I used the old extractor to fill the void. Trimmed it toclear the Sako extractor, then drilled two holes and used old style 700 extractor stake in pins. It fills the recess and will never come loose. It's on an XP100 that I've had for 22 years and has been re-barrelled twice sinceI installed theSako extractor.
