RE: Quebec Winter Caribou Hunting
Hi BKMSTR, just got back from Quebec. We only got3 out of 8 tags filled. It was the toughest hunt I have ever had. My group is not road hunters and we spent 4 days in the woods. We went in all directions and only saw 4 caribou. I put over 20 hours on my Argo and walked 12 miles according to my gps. There was very little fresh sign in the woods. We kept in contact with one of guides from Camp Kisk. and actually ran into them twice out in the woods. They were seeing no abundance of fresh tracks. I was lucky enough to have 4 wolves out in front of me for about 30 minutes.(this and the scenery helped make up for the lack of caribou.) Most of the hunters spent their days driving up and down the road waiting for a cow or calf to cross the road or cross a lake. I saw situations and heard many more disappointing stories of carelessness/greed of hunters.
