Default RE: muzzle brake

tried out my sons new BAR 30-06 with a brake at the target range back before deer season here in Maine. After hearing all the reports about how noisy they were, yup, you bet we wore the ear protection. After he had gotten it pretty well dialed in, he asked me if I'd like to take a few pops. So down I sat at the bench, got comfy with the new firearm, and touched off the first shot. Naturally in my entheusiasm, I forgot to put my plugs in.

The reports of how noisy these things are were pretty close to the truth. Ringing ears for about a minute but then after that, not too bad of any aftereffects, other than feeling like a dumbass.

The break pretty much reduced the recoil to 30-30'ish proportions.
