I have been considering a range finder like you in a medium to ower range. My first instict was bushnell. They seem to have become the industry standard for a good cheap one. But I have read some good things about the Leupolds. They have a neat feature that can give you a reading that compensates for ranging on an incline. And I hunt from an elevated blind or sometimes I have to take a shot up toward the ridge. This seemslike a useful feature and Leupolds durability and customer service is legendary.
