34 years ago when I started deer hunting I heard 5 shots close by. Sounded like someone opened up with an autoloader. About two hours later a man I knew asked me if I heard the shots. I said yes of course. He said that some idiot from NYC had been invited to hunt by the landowner. The idiot had pumped 5 12ga rounds into a button buck. Of course at the time only deer with antlers longer than 3" were legal. They just left it there.

The people we are discussing now act the same as the people back then. This isn't a new problem. I remember times when it wasn't safe to hunt that property because of those invited guests. I couldn't complain because the landowner was a supervisor in the plant where my dad worked.

It is a crying shame that we who hunt because we love the outdoors are painted with the same brush as those who only want to kill to satisfy their egos.
