My dragging equipment choices into QDM is basic to the whole issue. If you make it so blasted easy to kill deer by making the equipment so easy to use, then it's an obvious part of the whole equation. If it were difficult to kill ANY deer, then there wouldn't be such furor about killing only BIG deer and, therefore, bowhunters wouldn't even be involved in this QDMdiscussion.
Now, as to most deer being taken within range of a stickbow, that's immaterial. Only a small percentage of bowhunters use traditional equipment. And only a small percentage of those will ever shoot beyond 20 yards. According to the many, many polls taken on the subject, most compound users have no qualms against dumping the string within 30 yards.
You complain about equipment elitism but see no problem with antler size elitism?
