$525 is the going rate for new 7600s here in northern Maine. Great gun that oftentimes gets little respect. I'd guess that detemining if it is a good value is based solely on you. My 7600s have shot better out of the box than any 700 I have owned.

However another option is the used market is you really have your heart set on one. Our local shops usually have minty 7600s in a variety of calibers for $300-$350 which I believe is a very good value.
