RE: Any 280 Rem. shooters out there?
I shot my First and only elk with the 280. It was my guide's rifle. Mine had been dropped out of the jeep and we were not sure it was zeroed. It was a pre 64 winchester model 70. I asked the guide what ammo he was using. All he knew was that they were 140 grain remingtons and they were 10 years old. I hit the 5x5 elk in the right spot. It was perfect placement but I had an easy shot. The Bull ran 30 yards and dropped. He expired in about 30 seconds. It was pretty dramatic performance. I would take this round any day and will probaly buy a rifle in this caliber soon. I want a 270 too but I will get a 280 first
