Hey guys,
Ive been hunting for about 2 years now both bow and gun. I am usually in the woods 30-45 minutes before sun-up. I wash all of my clothes in the scent elminator detergant. I wash before i leave with the special soap. I have a climbing tree stand and usually go about 20-25 feet up. I basically follow every rule and guildline in the book to harvest a deer. In the 2 years i have been hunting i have been unsucessful in harvesting anything! Please, someone tell me what i can do better to get me one freaking deer! Tips? anything will help.
Thanks,
Steve
This is my second season with shotgun and I haven't seen or heard a deer at all while hunting for them. You've got a better shot though, as I only have a few days' window to deer hunt when college breaks and firearm seasons coincide. I have my friend's ancient 870 Wingmaster I'm borrowing. I have no special soap or detergent, just some scent killer spray and acorn-scented wafers. And I have no tree stand, just the rare tree I can climb or a single permanent stand one of my friends built. I get in early when I can, but unfortunately it is always crowded. I doubt unless I get better hunting opportunities than New Jersey's crowded public land it will take a miracle for me to even see a deer until I'm done with college. And I'm sure there are people with worse luck than mine.
