NY.....have you ever participated in a deer drive?? a REAL deer drive...not a push em all out with man power and plow em all down by the sheer number of guns. sure with enough drivers and enough shooters you will beable to push out every deer out there and get them all to the shooters. the only way i gunhunt IS drives. ill stand in the mornings. we drive after lunch time. but we get beat more then we win. we scout our deer harder than alot of bowhunters do(plus a couple of us ARE bowhunters!). we plan our drives. we plan anticipated exscape routes to put standers..and lastly is the sheer legwork. we dont hunt with alot of guys. a small group. average of about 8 id say. big days like saturdays we might have 10-15 but alot of them end up being kids we have to watch and we usually see less becuase we end up with a few walkers and a bunch of standers. ive never had an EASY deer drive. exspecially big bucks. they are the hardest to get killed. they are ALWAYS one step ahead of you wether your gun hunting or bowhunting. thats how they got big! ...too many guys knock deer drives..ill admit i did..until i started participating in them. i found out i was out of shape and it wasnt easy. alot of deer never knew we were there and alot of them blew out the back doors..

i love bowhunting...but didnt tag my buck this year. monday ill be perched 25foot high in the same area i bowhunted. if i shoot the biggun im after ill still smile. i will still had to watch the wind, i will still had to be scent free, i did the scouting and know he frequents the area, i put in the time etc. he may be out of bowrange or in thick stuff or running and i stop him and hes alert..all of which make him nearly impossible for a bowshot...but youll see my smiling face in the pics!

guessI REALLY stink....im a bow AND gun hunter...dang i might as well just bought a crossbow..

never seen mostly older mature guys bash people so much and this post just crawled under my skin...in the end were all hunters. guess im not good enough to visit the bowhunting forum since im a deer driving gun hunter!

you guys wouldnt complain when that big buck you been gettin beat by for years comes out of our drive and you stick an arrow in him..and our group will even help you track it and drag it! we done it before for other hunters that shot deer from our drives!!
