My issues are this.

1) Stop calling all gun hunters slob, lazy, or just plain less of a hunter. There are bad apples in every bunch. Regardless of what weapon they carry.

2) I had opened a thread defending gun hunters, but it got deleted. Why do I bother? True this is the "Bowhunting" Forum, but that doesn't mean that I can't defend gun hunting. Why did my thread get deleted, but this one still rages on?

I do still hunt with a gun, but I am not as passionate about it and look at it as a way to fill the freezer and spend time outside and most importantly time with friends/family. I shot a pretty good buck this weekend with my rifle and while he was probably the largest body deer I have killed he certainly wasn't the most rewarding hunt I have had or the most memorable. The best time of the hunt was looking for the deer with my best bud and his dad who is the landowner, and the camraderie we all had while butchering and processing the deer.It was a beautiful morning outside that dayand I know he will eat good and I certainly would rather be doing that than sitting on the couch.

With all that said, if I didn't have friends/family to gun hunt with and share the experience, I don't think I would be out there. I would rather be inside polishing my indoor game with the bow. If I didn't have friends/family to hunt with during archery season, I would definitely still be out there just as much.

The term ignorant was not meant to be derogatory.
Now I know I called you a low life scum bucket not worthy to lick the dirt from the bottom of my boot. But don't take that the wrong way!

LOL!

SB,
I was trying to be nice and polite. The truth is, no matter what you/I type, it is pretty evident to me and probably anyone else who is capable of thinking logically that you are ignorant, and you are an ignorant, close mindedhunter.

Yes, this is a bow hunting forum. I am a bow hunter, so I'll come here and say whatever I like. I also hunt with firearms. I will continue to take exception to ignorant statements such as the ones you've made. There are ignorant hunters with firearms and bows I know this. And some of them give their style of hunting a bad name or hunting in general. You are one of them. I don't call you ignorant because you have no desire to hunt with a gun. That is fine, it is a personal decision that you have made. But your comments are out of line, ignorant and just plain stupid.

While we're on the subject of what forum we're in. How about you follow your own guidance and keep you Church/Jesus crap in the religion/hunting forum? That way I don't have to skim past it to get to something intriguing or intelligent!

You are a very simple little man. Some how you've become so mystified with the bow, but maybe it is because you can relate to simple little things?

Germ,
That is the problem. There is a lack of respect here. First it was directed to gun hunters. Now that I hear such ignorance from some, I can't respect them, I'll just be done commenting.
SB said earlier he'd supports gun hunting?!

My question - By doing what? Bashing all gun hunters for the world to see?

Once again - Stupidity should be painful!

I won't stoop to name calling, Killer. I have always said....and I will always say I support gun hunting.

I also support the RNC....but can I not denounce Nixon's actions? That's all I've ever done, here (correlatively).

If people knew me.....they'd understand that I am FAR, FAR from a religious zealot. I usually preface any statement of the like I make by saying it's MY experience. People also have the right to click to the next subject. I also happen to think a lot of people may share some of my experiences. And....who's it hurt? If you're offended....I apologize....for I am (as you say) a "simple little man". And if it's in MY THREAD.....why in the world would you be skimming past......looking for anything intriguing or intelligent?? You've already determined I'm ignorant!

I never bashed ALL gun hunters. I made comments about some I know....and some I've seen on TV.

Ignorance may not be painful.....but it's painfully obvious.

Jeff

to each his own...

Why won't this thread go 'poof' and disappear, nothing good is going to come from it.
