I have a Kodiak... shoots 1-1 1/2" groups at 50 yards through a 1x Red Dot scope. I had a very limited budget also and felt it was a decent gun for the money... I paid $148 using my points at Cabala's. They still have the blue barrel/black stock on sale for $189. $166 at www.budsgunshop.com. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a safe and successful season.
