Wow--that's strange. I'll ask the obvious--are you getting good arrow flight? I know that gets overlooked a lot--robs penetration. Do your nocks fit on the string tight? That can be another problem. 'Course sometimes weird stuff just happens.

I'm not exactly a big game expert, but I do get to talk to a lot of folks. I've got pictures of a record book gemsbok that was killed with a 47@26 longbow--not a pass-through, but full penetration (broadhead stuck out the far side)--pretty big critter. Got pics of a black bear estimated to weigh at least 600#, shot with a 52 or 53# recurve, complete pass-through including the off-side leg. One of my best friends regularly gets pass-throughs on deer with his recurve, shooting 55#. I am pretty sure they all used 2 blade heads. 'Course I have shot rabbits with 82# and not get a pass-through, so go figure.

If it doesn't work out, Craig can probably shave 5-10# off. Good idea to check it out--I wound up with a "hot" bow about a year ago, but was lucky. I got the bow that I traded for it back, and I found out who owned that one, and he got it back.
