I agree with everyone recommending a .22 LR. My wife loves my Model 41 Smith, and she can shoot all she wants and I don't go broke. Even with all the centerfire handguns I own, I still enjoy shooting my .22's. In fact, I will probably add another one to the aresenal one of these days. Semi-auto .22 pistols are just plain fun.
