Well mine is a 1895 in 45-70 and it will group from 1"-1 1/2" for 3 shots when I have a scope mounted. But I much prefer it with williams receiver sights, just looks and handles so much better. Also will still shoot 3" groups and that aint bad for open sights. The Marlin firearms co has designed a lever action rifle that will shoot tighter groups than many bolt action rifles. One other thing I'd mention is the Wild West trigger, a worthwhile upgrade for the Marlin.
